Who We Are and What We Do

Interfaith Advocates for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender People of Rochester, NY was formed in 1991 to recognize and respect the inherent worth and dignity of all people regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity and to seek increased awareness, understanding and inclusion of LGBT people. Acknowledging that people of faith are called to work for social justice in our society, EPSPA's Pride In The Pulpit initiative in our region is now a Standing Committee of Interfaith Advocates. We encourage members of the faith community to sign our on-line petition and join the hundreds of people of faith in Rochester who support the Interfaith Statement in Support of Equal Marriage for All. Meeting five times per year to network about developments in our faith communities and in our region, we maintain a lending library of community educational materials (books and videos), and our website offers listings of welcoming congregations and upcoming events in greater Rochester.
